We’re back with more goodies from Dominique + Ron’s wedding, so if you haven’t seen part 1 yet just do a little downward scrolling action to give it a looksie. This time around we’re getting a sneak peek into their pre-reception portrait sesh with the Joielala gals. Awesome DIY alert! You see that star headpiece Dominique is wearing? She made it!
I would have to say my favorite project, and probably the most difficult and time consuming was my star headpiece I made for the reception. I was inspired originally from Hedy Lamarr’s costume headpiece in the 1941 film, Ziegfield Girl, and more recently inspired by a headpiece by Stephan Jones. I made it completely on my own and took me close to 30 hours over the course of 3 weeks to make. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out in the end, but I was so incredibly happy with the results!
Stunning couple, right?
When Ron and I first got together he played “These Arms of Mine” by Otis Redding alllll the time, so we had that song play as we danced our first dance out in the field during our portraits, away from the crowd.
Listen to it here:
We really can’t get enough of these two. Oh, you can’t either? Perfect, because we have part 3 coming right up (kitschy vintage fun details, rad guests, and the best fish tacos in LA included)!
