If you’ve been following our mini-series of Dominique + Ron’s wedding up to this point you’ve probably been dying to see the reception details. Wait no further. They’re kooky (in the most fun way possible!), they’re colorful, and they show us that it’s totally possible to pull off a 1950’s tropical-influenced wedding in style. Shall we mosey on over to the reception now? Let’s plow.
Both Dominique and Ron made the glitter table numbers, letters for the chuppah (which can be seen in part 1), and the vintage glittery dolls for the flowers. And, let’s not forget that cute little Orangina glass bottle. We all know and love them – so what do you do when you want to use handfuls of them as vases for your centerpieces? You chug. And, you do so by starting months in advance.
They also made the paper doll escort cards out of old movie star pin-up paper dolls purchased from Wacko Soap Plant Bookstore in Silver Lake.
These adorably fun vases all came straight from Dominique + Ron’s private collection, while the gold Pyrex coffee carafes you see above were all collected at flea markets or Etsy.
Dominique + Ron gave their guests a fab dinner – flavors to make any taste bud happy. Guests had the treat of choosing from the In N Out cookout trailer, or the infamous Ricky’s Fish Tacos (which to some Angelenos is considered to be the best fish tacos in LA).
Guess what kind of cake this is? Just guess. It’s a s’mores cake! Instead of “cutting” the cake, these two fun cats torched mallows to complete the cake. Super adorable!
Want to see even more? Head over to the Love Me Sailor blog to check out the fun that ensued in their photobooth! Dominique + Ron’s 1950’s wedding had so many fun treasures, fashionable guests, food for days, DIY projects that we simply adore, and now we pretty much just want to start at part 1 and look at the photos all over again! Thanks Joielala for sharing your talent and capturing these two lovebirds perfectly! Dominique + Ron, we wish you a lifetime of happiness and congratulate you on a super gorgeous and awesome wedding!
