All right. We’re feeling really good about today’s wedding. It’s another mini-series worthy wedding, so prepare yourself for a spectacular two-parter! A + M are one of those couples that you want in your “friends that are also married” circle. They’re uber adorable, are heavily into music (you’ll see), have superb taste, are all about their families, and their wedding? Well, it showcased all of the above and then some. Combine all that with Nancy, the mastermind of So Happi Together, and you’ve got yourself a wedding that we’re wishing we could have been a guest at.
We wanted our invite to reflect our love for music. We decided on the idea to create a cd type booklet that on the inside contained liner notes on the left and a “cd” on the right. The liner notes would be the invite and instead of a cd full of songs, we wanted to create a stop motion film on dvd. We found recycled cardboard sleeves (which was perfect because M is an environmental engineer). We fell in love with a font/design that Mae Mae Paperie and our planner So Happi Together came up with for a shoot they had previously done together. Together with Megan at Mae Mae Paperie we found a way to incorporate the design into the cardboard cases we found. We used a local letterpress company to save money and we also lined all our invitation and rsvp envelopes ourselves with a color that matched our bridesmaid dresses.
M walked out to “Here Comes Your Man” by the Pixies, the wedding party walked down to “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes, and to keep things a little traditional, A walked down to “Here Comes the Bride”.
Listen to “Here Comes Your Man” here:
Need more proof that they’re heavily into music? One of their signature drinks was named the Coldplay “Yellow” Margarita!
We know we might sound like we’re obsessing over this wedding (because we are), but we’re completely dying over the outdoor lounge area they created using one-of-a-kind custom pieces from Found Vintage Rentals.
That gold mirrored tray (that we want to slip into our pretty little purse asap) was a flea market find. Such a score! We know you see great pieces like these in weddings and think, “Why can’t I ever find things like that?”. Well, you totally can – it just takes patience and a ton of trips to your local flea markets. Most cities have them all over town so check them out every weekend. A + M were hitting up their local flea markets a year in advance and as you can see, it paid off beautifully. Sometimes you can even get vendors to custom make you something. Perfect example: The white wooden sign post above – it was made by one of the vendors they met at a flea market!
Don’t you get a warm and cozy feeling just from looking at all the decor? There’s more coming Cakelets, just you wait!
