With the idea of wanting to create an entire weekend celebration for their guests, Kevin + Wing didn’t think twice when they turned down the Caribbean, Hawaii and even Bali for the charming and quaint town of Sonoma. Annadel Estate Winery, with its historic stone ruins, huge oak trees, beautiful rose garden, majestic woodlands, and easy access to lots o’ tasty wine had them feeling like they were completely secluded and in another world. And, who better than Yelena, of The Stylish Soiree to knock out the design and Ozzy Garcia to capture such elegance!
From Wing: We wanted our wedding to be about our commitment to each other and less about the traditional checklist of wedding moments (like the bouquet toss, first dance, Chinese tea ceremony etc). We wanted our wedding to reflect our style and personality. The laid back and effortless outdoor setting inspired an intimate and elegant dinner party with our closest family and friends at a “French farmhouse set in the idyllic countryside”.
The ceremony decor was kept simple with vintage pews from Heritage and Craft and fluffy linen pillows for comfort. For place cards, small kraft name tags were tied to miniature glass milk bottles and filled with wild flowers. Those cuties weren’t even their favors!
The overarching theme for the wedding design was “Luxe Parisian Farmhouse,” which was brought to life with rentals, flowers and little details that were rustic yet still upscale. The color scheme included pale blues, creams and grays with pops of deep purple in the flowers, and hints of black here and there for a shot of Parisian glamour.
As favors, Kevin + Wing gave their guests small bottles of olive oil from Napa – the perfect way to incorporate the wedding location while sharing a gift they could take home to use, while remembering such a fabulous weekend.
Studio Choo created the lovely florals (peonies, anenomes, lilac, mixed greenery, dahlias, succulents, garden roses, and dusty miller) and arranged them in a mixture of containers purchased by the bride (miniature old milk glasses in rustic wooden holders and metal urns) as well as vintage silver pieces. Table runners were a mix of pale blue linens from La Tavola and creamy lace runners, with seating cushions on black iron bistro chairs that matched the pale blue linens. My husband and I are real foodies so we integrated a few of our favorite things into our dessert buffet. We got Chicago’s Garrett Popcorn (a big hit), an assortment of our favorite treats from Patisserie Angelica, Coconut Passion Fruit Bavarian from the amazing Tartine Bakery in San Francisco and dessert wine from V Sattui Winery.
Congrats Kevin + Wing!
