Palm Springs, we love you. You’re always sunny, you’re glittered with retro glam, and you’re home to The Parker – a secret hideaway for any and all Jonathan Adler lovers alike. If you’re at all into the groovy stylings of Mr. Adler, then this could also be your dream venue. It’s the type of place you walk into, and think, “I need to get married here” (true words spoken by our bride). After Jessie + Jon fell in love with The Parker, a fun, modern with a touch of kitsch, wedding was born. Clearly a photographer who is just as fab and knows the venue like the back of her hand would do the trick. Enter, Sarah Yates!
To avoid spending lots of money on flowers at the alter, and make the ceremony area feel like an outdoor living room, Cortnie of Canvas and Canopy came up with the idea to hang vintage inspired lampshades behind the couple.
“When life gives you lemons make spiked Arnold Palmers” – yes!
The place card table was so perfectly Palm Springs. Framed photos of old Hollywood movie stars and singers that spent a lot of their time in PS sat pretty with a sign reading, “You’re invited to dine with the Stars of Hollywood’s Playground”.
Let’s talk about those napkins and those hands! Renting napkins can be expensive and limiting. Jessie decided to make her own. She ordered different prints, and got a seamstress to hem the edges and iron them. The modern graphics add just the right amount of pop to the tables, and the best part? She gets to keep them to reuse at her next party.
Now, those ceramic hands. This must be the “touch of kitsch” they were talking about. They’re actually jewelry stands from Urban Outfitters that were used to hold all the food labels. Aren’t they great?
To dine at these gorgeous tables! The metallic vases were from Ross, while most of the white vases were from Home Goods, but also thrift stores and Cortnie’s personal collection. The combo of eclectic vases + couture floral designs by JL Designs and Events is killing us.
Jessie + Jon, we’re positive Mr. Adler would be proud! Congratulations!
