The costumes, romance, wealth, scheming plots, and fairy tale-esque interiors of Downton Abbey are what kept us glued to our TV’s for weeks. You too? Good! At least we know we’re not alone in waiting for season 3 (just a short eight months away). Consider this inspired shoot your fix. It will last you at least until you start re-watching episodes!
As a wedding planner, Claire Berry of White Sage Events was drawn to the emergence of fashion in this era and how it was reflected in ‘high society’ weddings from that time. Bringing that era to life, she turned to Old Hollywood shots, TV’s Downton Abbey, The Great Gatsby, for inspiration.
We focused on using soft pastels that were elegant and pretty, then pulled inspiration from original 20’s records for typefaces and language from that time. The architectural beauty and setting of the Ashley Park House in Tipperary, Ireland was phenomenal to work with and made it easy for us to fashion a love story about a man struggling to win the attention of a well heeled woman for her wealth, however all the while captured by the charms of a more modern, less well off woman.
Thank you to all the creative talent involved! Such an inspiring and lovely shoot!
