Does the question, “What if young Claude Monet was to be wed in 2012?” ever come up in conversation? Well, that’s kind of how the concept of this shoot came to life. Photographer, Michelle March + jewelry designer, Jacqueline Pinto were inspired by the use of color in Monet’s art, and the intricate layered tulle in the Ouma dress you’re about to die over. These ladies had way too much fun playing with colors, textures, patterns, and lots of balloons. Can’t blame them!
From Melissa: Once Monique, from Ouma, had graciously let me photograph this one-of-a-kind dress, I set out to make the rest of the elements just as amazing. The whimsical jewelry by Jacqueline Pinto and hairpiece by Teeki were designed and created with the concept in mind.
The idea of using the balloons was inspired by the ombre effect of the dress. I thought it would be fun to have vintage furniture by Unearthed Vintage that felt like they belonged in a French cottage to mix things up. The adorable white + yellow parlor chairs and the amazing spool table brought in just the perfect amount of sweet and delicate nature that was needed.
A little peek at the behind the scenes from Michael Burgos Films:
The very original and glittery paper goods by Llorente Design were the icing on the cake. From the adorable “Smooch” + Au Revoir signs to the flags on the cupcakes. The bright peonies by Vivian’s Petals and the giant, handmade flower really tied it all in and made it all larger than life. A true inspiration for this young Claude. My bit of advice to brides-to-be… I would really love for brides to take a chance on using vibrant colors and having a more playful vibe on their big day. Weddings are serious business, but if you’re a young and modern couple, you shouldn’t hide that from the world on the biggest day of your life!
