Carina + Joao’s venue, the 17th century Palácio de Conde D’Óbidos was responsible for their literary theme. Walls covered with Portuguese tiles, a historical library with a gorgeous chandelier, and a view over the Tejo River in the centre of Lisbon… This is what they fell in love with and why they chose the book as their main focus. “A book as an object and as a means of transport of culture and wisdom. We wanted our theme to be an extension of the venue and of ourselves. Something classic, with a vintage look in order to mix with some modern elements, and this was the perfect place to do it.”
We wanted to create something that could be personalized, that could make each of our guests part of the story, so we took vintage books bought at a flea market, separated every single page and used a silkscreen technique to print the text of the invitation – a simple message that read: “Joao asked, Carina said yes. Come celebrate with us”.
That chandelier… wow.
Carina was definitely not afraid of color as she rocked an azure blue leather jacket and matching Converse.
All the graphic work was done by the design team to which Carina belongs to, Como Branco. Invitations, menus, seat markers and all of the graphic elements scattered around were all designed together and printed by them.
We love it all! Congratulations Carina + Joao!
