Geneva + Jono are musicians (she’s a singer, he’s a multi-instrumentalist). They met back when they were just 16, but didn’t start dating until the end of college. Just based off their wedding alone, these two are F.U.N. It will be obvious in just a sec how out there, funny and crazy Jono is. Geneva – she’s got her crazy side too, but compared to Jono’s little “wedding morning skateboarding in your skivvies sesh” with his groomsmen, she appears super mellow. We’re excited for you guys to see this one. The details are thoughtfully crafted, the photos by Bayly & Moore look like they came out of an editorial shoot, and the couple… well they’re awesome.
I actually found the design of our invites on a wedding blog when I was doing some ‘creative wedding research’. I fell in love with the design and the fact that it seemed impossible was super appealing to me. We were after wooden etched invites and were so happy when we found a designer, Vanessa Harris, that knew where we could get them done.. it’s was definitely one of those ‘YES! We did it!’ moments – the near impossible was achieved. So Vanessa and ADFW captured exactly what we wanted in the invitations and we were over the moon with the finished product. These ended up costing more than paper invites would have – but we had made the decision that we wanted to go the extra mile so that our guests felt special from the get go.
What’s something a groom can do with his guys before the wedding… skate the neighborhood in his skivvies!
Can’t get more memorable than that.
Make sure to watch their video below to see all this action in motion.
I wanted to keep the flowers really simple and to come across ‘fresh and free’ as strange as that may sound. I love white flowers, so the flowers we had in the bouquets were… chrysanthemums, white lyzianthus, white roses, and lambs ears.
The design of our invitations carried through to the rest of our wedding and into our ‘order of the day’ program, reception name tags and other signage.
Because we’re musicians, choosing music was one of the hardest parts to this all. But we managed to get there and we were super stoked with our choices. There were a lot of songs!!! Boys walk in song: The Black Hawk War by Sufjan Stevens, Brides walk in music: Turning Page by Sleeping At Last, End of ceremony song: Forces of The Like by Woo’en (Jono had a band (they still like to think they are a band) made awesome rap songs when they were about 15/16 and they wrote this song about liking girls), Walk in reception: Robot Rock by Daft Punk, First dance: Sparks by Coldplay, First party dance: Land of 1000 Dances by William Pickett (we all learnt a dance from Just Dance 3 (the video game)… brilliant!).
And now for all the fun in motion! Such an adorable group of family & friends they have.
Huge congratulations Geneva + Jono!
