A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of cruising to Palm Springs to spend the afternoon sipping on cocktails and crafting with some of our favorite ladies in the wedding biz. The party was hosted by Sarah Yates of Birds of a Feather and Tori Hendrix of Sitting in a Tree Events, two very stylish & creative ladies whom we adore to pieces. But since this was their party, we’ll let them explain the pretty you’re about to see. Click here to jump on over to the full gallery of images.
From Sarah… The wedding industry is chock full of talented, fun, inspiring and rad ladies! Unfortunately we don’t get to see them as often as we’d like, something we were talking about during a recent Birds of a Feather get together. So we decided to host a party- to lure some of the aforementioned gals into the desert with the promise of an afternoon of sun, cocktails, great company and crafting! Once we’d hatched the plan we asked Tori of Sitting in a Tree Events to jump on board and co-host. We knew she’d be the perfect person to work with. And we’re so glad we did, that lady can style a party like no other!
Once we sorted out the guest list we tackled the invite, working with our favorite designer Aileen Cheng to come up with something that was enticing enough to convince our party invite list to drive 2+ hours into Palm Springs. We were thrilled with what she came up with, and just as in love with the fun feather, sequins and washi tape Tori added to the packaging.
Farra from The Hostess Haven lent us her amazing glasses and plates and saved us at the last minute with an ingenious cocktail recipe involving champagne, Limoncello, mint, dried cranberries and blood orange San Pellegrino. So refreshing on a warm afternoon in the desert!
Each of the Birds of a Feather girls was responsible for coming up with a craft idea and organizing the supplies. We wanted projects that were relatively easy and would provide all of our guests with fun things to take home. We settled on mobiles made from driftwood and feathers, friendship & hex bolt bracelets, painted rocks and tassel keychains.
Sarah’s backyard was made for a party like this, with a large lawn where we set up the craft tables and umbrellas for shade, an outdoor sitting room and a pool perfect for dipping your feet into while chatting with friends! Tori added dreamcatchers, white beach balls floating in the pool, a couple of well-styled teepees and the most beautiful florals from Brown Paper Design to make it all lovely and festive!Sarah whipped up the snacks and treats keeping the food light and colorful. You can find a few of her recipes here, here and here.
Awesome ideas for a bridal shower? Totally.
