If there’s one fashionable item that we absolutely love, that would make for some pretty interesting and fun inspiration for your wedding, it would be shoes. Allow Kate to demonstrate. Her cute Vivienne Westwood heart heels are what sparked her inspiration. She had seen them years ago knowing that she would eventually buy them for her wedding. And once they were in her possession, she used the red, blush & gold colors from the shoes and fused them with her outdoor vegan wedding. More on how she kept her wedding vegan in just a sec, but for now let’s let the photos by Brushfire Photography tell their story… Click here to jump over to the full gallery of images!
Kate’s bouquet recipe: Peonies, Garden roses, Icelandic poppies, Ranunculus, Anemone.
How they met:
We were both living in Chicago when OKCupid blew up. That’s how we met. We found each other while looking for someone who shared similar interest in bikes, independent music, and a vegan lifestyle. But with vegans and cyclists knowing each other, we had a few friends in common. Most of our first dates involved cooking something new at home, ice-skating in millennium park, or riding bikes somewhere to hangout with friends. I started looking to find a grad school to go to, and Casey was looking for a change of pace and to move out west. Our lives quickly came together and we made long term plans to move to Arizona for my education.

Love the way they dressed up their Mr. & Mrs. chairs!
We added a lot of touches that were very ‘us’. We had a vegan menu and cake, and my wedding dress and Casey’s suit didn’t contain wool or silk. I also wore a beaded hair pin that all the women in my family have worn for their weddings, going back to my grandmother, plus I had ribbon from my parent’s wedding weaved into my bouquet. We just tried to add a lot of our hearts and what was important to us.
Congratulations Kate & Casey!
