In all of our five years spent blogging about weddings, this might be the first time we’ve heard of a groom walking (er, disco-ing) down the aisle to “Staying Alive.” But that just goes to show you how insanely fun Amy + Jason are. Their Palm Springs wedding—which was photographed by Jennifer Emerling and designed by Hello Gem—featured beach balls, beer koozies, loads of glitter, and one very cute pup running around the party. As Amy tells it, not taking themselves too seriously was key.
Woah, woah, woah—now hold on just a second. Can we talk about how amazing this invitation suite is? It was designed by the talented Hello Gem ladies to look like the old school “Welcome to Palm Springs” posters. The RSVP cards were real postcards that felt like a vintage mailing from the ‘50s.
Amy’s glamorous white bouquet recipe: silver brunia, peonies, anemones, hydrangea, and ranunculus.
Disco fever!
Amy + Jason saved some cash by purchasing wholesale succulents for the centerpieces rather than fresh cut flowers. That allowed them to spend more of their budget on extended bar hours, photography, videography, and gifts for wedding party.
That was so much fun. Congrats to the newlyweds!
