You guys, this Seattle sailboat engagement shoot is just too good. Not only because it’s totally unique, but Ian + Krischel began sailing as a couple a few years ago, and it’s always been their time to learn something new together. So you could say it’s kinda their thing. They found Ryan Flynn Photography through a wedding blog, and were thrilled that he was up for the challenge of capturing them out on the Puget Sound, where they love to experience the beautiful PNW.
Our groom-to-be explains how they ended up on a boat…
When Krischel not-so-gently insisted that we do engagement pictures, I casually shot back “Only if we can take them on a boat.” Thinking there was no way she’d go for that, I was thrilled with my assumed victory and convinced we’d be at an impasse. Knowing how much Krischel dislikes any condition other than perfect Seattle summer weather, imagine my surprise when she not only agreed to my plan but seemed genuinely excited about it. The impasse was over before it had even begun!
This skirt!!
Glassy waves and a sunset backdrop… Can you ask for a better setting?!
Photog Ryan totally embraced the whole experience, despite the unconventional location. Ian says, Any concerns we’d had prior to the shoot completely dissolved once we were out on the water. What had threatened to be an afternoon of tedium for me suddenly became a fun & relaxing experience with a new friend.
Oh, and the boat from Seattle Sailing Club is aptly named “Life is Good”.
Soo great. Cheers you two!
