Most of us have at least an idea of what season we’d most like our big day to take place within. But that doesn’t necessarily translate well to where you live or what your venue is like. Jeff Brummett Visuals, Ginger Roots Florals + the team behind today’s shoot had precisely that in mind when they dreamed up this fall picnic theme—Texas is a beauty, but it doesn’t show off in the fall quite like the northern states. So for this event, they went straight to the details… Starting with a most lovely autumn gown + a rich, full bouquet of course.
In order to have a bold dress without it conflicting with the colors in the bouquets and décor, they looked at the burgundy stitching of the gown and chose colors that complemented it specifically.
We used seasonal dahlias, eucalyptus, handpicked Japanese maple and ranunculus. By using colors in the detail stitching, the bouquet holds its own without being distracting and still fitting in the color scheme of the outfit and the day.
All of Jeff’s photos were shot on Portra 400 film… Wonderful, yes?
One last tip: Consider using different colors in the ‘maids’ bouquets to make them unique and different than the bridal. That way the bride’s really pops!
Sigh… That dress!
Kudos to the team below for showing us just how versatile a fall theme can be.
