Alicia + Henry have the cutest love story: They both lived + worked in downtown LA and after meeting once, they began to run into each other all around town. They’d notice each other from across the street, on an escalator, you name it, and finally Henry asked Alicia out for dessert one night. Three years later he proposed (at a picnic in Italy, no less!). So it’s not too hard to see why they went with DTLA for their wedding spot.

How gorg is Alicia’s dress? She designed it with dress designer + maker Tashina Hunter, who creates custom gowns from recycled materials. It has a hand-cut and stitched vintage lace bodice + light crushed silk chiffon skirt.
Marvimon House is one of those rare venues with a perfect spread of décor already folded in, so they played off those details to create a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere for their 165 guests to enjoy. The bride’s bouquet recipe: garden roses, sage greens, ranunculus, sweet peas, lavender astrantia

Henry and I are both Chinese and we wanted to somehow pay homage to our traditions. So rather than doing the traditional parental hug, or a unity candle, we had a short bowing ceremony during the vows to show respect for both our parents… Our decision to do away with various traditions allowed us to spend a lot of time together during the actual day. I’ll never forget peeking out from our secret room together and watching our guests arrive. We were so excited and felt like we were the hosts of a big party. At that moment I knew we accomplished our mission for the wedding: we went in wanting the wedding to be less about us, but more about our family and our friends; after all, their support was what led us to each other.
So sweet. Congratulations!
