Ahhhh… This photo! Major props to The Mullers for capturing that scene!
When they first got engaged, D + E didn’t quite have Omaha, Nebraska in mind for their big day. But the more they thought about it, the more a destination was just a dream. They decided to incorporate elements from their dream locations without the travel, like San Diego succulents and coastal vibes. Lauritzen Gardens was the only Omaha venue that totally blew them away, and The Mullers were there to get it all on camera. (Even Evan loved having them as photographers, despite being not-so-thrilled about having his photo taken!)
That Hayley Paige ‘Kira’ gown sure is enchanting… Darrica had that garden setting in mind when picking out her dress and found the gown on her 1st visit to the bridal salon (after a ton of research, of course). Plus, it’s a flawless fit on her petite frame, with a sweetheart neckline, lace bodice, and silk georgette flounced skirt.
The ceremony guest list was 70 with a reception of 165, so it was private but still inclusive. Looks magical!
That sky totally represents their wedding colors… Darrica said they went coastal-glam, inspired by succulents (Evan’s aunt and uncle own a succulent business) and even a bit of the south, as she grew up visiting Florida: As soon as I saw those gorgeous plants I knew I wanted those as a main focus of our wedding. Instead of choosing two colors, we decided to go with a succulent color scheme instead. I love their different pastel and earthy tones and wanted to accentuate those throughout the décor.
Designer Lovestru.ck Weddings + Events blew their minds with the décor as soon as they walked into the reception…
Neither of us had seen the reception space yet or knew how many people were actually there since we opted for a smaller, private ceremony and were off taking pictures while the rest of our guests were arriving… The reception room was so gorgeous and was better than anything I could have ever dreamt up. Not only was the décor beautiful but all of our family and friends were there to support and celebrate us. It was truly an overwhelming moment that I will never forget.
Yum. Cheers!
