If you prefer the comfort + community that comes with a backyard wedding, Katherine of Lucky & In Love totally has you covered. Allow her to explain: There is something so wonderfully intimate when a couple decides to host their wedding in their own backyard. It becomes a showcase of their lives together, an outpouring of love for not only each other, but the friends and family who have supported their relationship throughout. Good point, yeah? Thanks to Melissa Jill Photography for all the romantic film images in this post!
Katherine, on backyard weddings, The best ones are a direct reflection of the couple, highlighting the quirks of their personalities and the customs and traditions they’ve developed and grown to hold on to. These days, backyard weddings are not your average summer BBQ! They are detailed, well thought out, and carefully styled soirees that take double the planning, but can often produce double the reward.
A bouquet complete with anemones and eucalyptus leaves always wins our hearts.
The food and beverage are a take on spring and summer favorites: homemade marshmallows dipped in dark chocolate with edible copper flakes perfect for roasting, and malachite macarons from Ruze Cake House. The signature drink? A light sangria spritzer, made with Bon Affair‘s Sauvignon Blanc, granny smith apples, bartlett pears, and a hidden lime rim garnish.
The green hues of the mineral malachite were a major source of inspiration for them throughout, but this cake sure proves it! Props to Ruze Cake House.
Thanks to Lucky & In Love + everyone below for reigniting our love of intimate affairs!
