Sometimes the best thing you can do for an event design is combine two distinctly different elements, like the desert greens + softer petals in this bouquet, or romantic hand lettering amongst geometric shapes and modern tableware. Kelsey Rae Designs took the succulent garden, tiled wall, and velvet chairs of their Del Mar venue to bring a modern twist to a seaside retreat—basically, the best of both worlds, as captured by Plum & Oak Photo.
Nothing better than a big, beautiful xerographica air plant at the center of your bouquet.
Kelsey explains, The moment Elyse Barton of Plum & Oak Photo and I stepped onto L’Auberge Del Mar’s property, we knew we had found a gem. With its exposed brick exterior and ivy covered walls, we were surprised to walk in and find a little piece of retro heaven right in Del Mar, California. Cast Calligraphy sure has a way with loopy letters.Kelsey says, Inspired by clean and chic geometrics such as our love for terrariums and air plants, Elyse went to work building the giant geo structure that soon became the focal point of our shoot. We wanted brides who share our love for geometric shapes to be able to incorporate it beautifully into their day. The exaggerated size of our geometric structure can only be matched by the heightened emotions of a wedding day. It is breathtaking, modern, sophisticated, and most importantly different.
