Sammie + Tom met in high school on the east coast, started dating senior year of college, and did long distance for two years. When he was finally able to meet her in SF, the west coast officially became home. Naturally their big day needed to blend a little of their east coast style—elegant—with a lighthearted west coast feel—whimsical. So whimsical elegance became their most used phrase for oh, about 10 months. And who should convey such a blend in photos? Edyta S zyszlo for sure…

No one does whimsical elegance like Kate Spade. The ‘maids all wore gold versions of this shoe too.

Sammie says, One of the first things we did was ask one of our favorite people to marry us— Alphonzo Jackson, my running coach. We designed the ceremony from scratch and included some of our favorite childhood book passages and a wine-box ceremony. We knew we wanted to say our vows outside somewhere beautiful and to have the ceremony be led by someone we cared about. Asking Coach Al was one of our favorite memories in planning. He teared up when we asked him and we knew we had made the right decision.

They needed a spot at Cline Cellars where the party could go late, and the barrel room was IT. Colorful fabrics, string lights, and soft peach brightened everything up. Sammie says, The barrel room was everything I had imagined. I dreamt of a colorful ceiling with a beautiful chandelier with walls of barrels, and it was what we got!

Oh, and Sammie surprised Tom with his fave arcade game, bubble hockey.

Cocktail hour was filled with truffle friends, garlic shrimp skewers, and mini sliders. Dinner was family-style and also included Philz Coffee (Sammie works in their corporate office) for a west coast treat. Then there was Nothing Bundt Cakes cake + C.R.E.A.M custom ice cream sandwiches. Yum.
