The big challenge for David + Christine at their wedding? Ensuring their 150 guests had so much fun that they forgot the Savannah summer heat. It took their super cute love story, a Chinese tea ceremony, and a few boozy popsicles, but we can tell from all The Happy Bloom‘s photos that not one guest was thinking about the weather.
Beautiful, right? On the getting-ready photos, Justin of The Happy Bloom says, It’s always such a special moment when a bride’s girls get everything just right for the photo. Little do they know, we’re not interested in it being just right. We’re interested in watching them be laugh evokers, helping hands, emotional supporters, and best friend to our bride. That is what makes a photo just right.
Christine’s romantic neutral bouquet recipe: Italian ruscus, seeded silver dollar eucalyptus, cafe au latte dahlias, ivory garden roses, sand roses
In addition to their wedding ceremony, they held a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. During this, the couple serves tea to their parents and relatives and in returns receives gifts from the family.
C’s fave moments included the tea ceremony + her epic father-daughter dance that made it big on Youtube. (See it here!)
Christine tells it, I am a neutrals girl. In my style, home decor, etc. My absolute favorite combo is gold and white/cream. Our wedding and ceremony venue was outdoors surrounded by an abundance of trees and greenery. So we wanted to incorporate a mix of pale whites, rich greens, and golds as well as wooden accents… We wanted the style to be simple but still chic and pretty.
As for D + C’s love story, Justin has the scoop:
Do you like hot dogs?
Sure, I mean. I guess. Doesn’t everyone? While this may be true, you may not expect that a beautiful wedding happened because of this simple (and strange) question.
David saw Christine and he fell. Fell hard. He knew he had to ask her out. So he walked up to her. Looked in her in the eyes. And asked, “Do you like hot dogs?” She smiled… Nervously. But answered yes. Just a few days later they were both seated at a heated Atlanta Braves game…you guessed it… eating hot dogs.
And that’s where it all started. Shortly after, a true relationship formed. Then an engagement. And now, a wedding. The two were married at Savannah’s historic Mackey House on a very warm day in July. But despite the heat, there was plenty of love and laughter to keep everyone cool and happy. Not to mention they skipped that traditional cocktail hour and opted in a pop-tail hour featuring a Southern favorite, King Of Pops! Boozy popsicles on a hot July day? Yes ma’am!
Cheers!
