This elegant Nashville wedding has us thinking of purple and blue hues in a whole new way. Since she + Jay were saying I Do in September, Katheryn wanted the colors to evoke an end-of-summer feeling. So magical, right? They brought it all to life for a guest list of 250 with the help of Jessica Sloane + Vintage Florals. See more in these photos from Austin Gros!
The gown: An ivory Reem Acra dress made of beaded, embroidered lace + a silk organza skirt.
Love this orchid bouquet by Vintage Florals, don’t you? Katheryn says it had a unique blend of blooms including clematis, lady slipper orchids, vintage carnations, sweet pea, dahlias, garden roses, and chocolate Queen Anne’s lace. There was also elaeagnus, silver dollar eucalyptus, and ivy to lighten the moody palette and give movement to the arrangements.
You probably want to hear their story, huh?
After a wonderful trip to London where Jay proposed on the River Thames near the end of 2013, we got married a little less than a year later at First Presbyterian Church, the church where I grew-up attending, in our shared hometown of Nashville… I knew that I wanted our wedding reception to reflect the natural beauty of Nashville’s lush and rolling hills that we had always taken for granted before living almost a decade in New York City. We felt there was no better setting that captures Nashville’s beauty than Cheekwood Botanical Gardens where we held our reception in the back lawn of the historic Cheek mansion under a clear tent so that our beautiful surroundings would be on display throughout the evening.
It was truly amazing to have the people we love the most gather in one location. I will always remember the thoughtful words shared by our family and friends and the palpable energy that led everyone to dance the night away. We truly enjoyed performing our first dance for the crowd. The caramel, fudge, sour cream cake was a huge hit and so was Jay’s incredible toast during dinner which brought most to tears.
Such a sweet day. Wishing you the best!
