Guys, isn’t this whole scene spring at its finest? When dreaming up this editorial, Amanda of Jar Cakery and Shay and Olive Photography knew they’d be sticking with grey and marble to create a modern palette for their loft wedding, but it needed just a little pop of color. Enter, mauve! The use of this spring hue added a touch of romance to their modern design.

We visited Set & Co to choose handmade ceramics and immediately fell in love with their selection of mauve pieces—we knew we had our color! The Lumen Room in Dallas served as the perfect venue and blank canvas for our shoot. It is a bright, light-filled loft complete with a large window and exposed brick. Upon seeing the space Olivia of Olive Grove Design knew just what to do. She created a large floral installation using greenery and white flowers.

And the flawlessly calligraphed menus and paper goods by Everwild Calligraphy with torn edges contributed to the romantic, yet modern feel.

Kara Stout of Nutrition by Kara chose avocado toast and lavender lemonade for the menu and they complemented the modern theme perfectly—the menu was light, fresh, and acidic. The colors of the dish popped on our handmade ceramic plates.

The roses and ribbon might be our fave way to see mauve in action.
