Morning, friends! We’ve got such a unique wedding for you on this Labor Day, that took place at Burning Man and infused cultural traditions and ancient rituals with the couple’s own artistic style. Scroll through the photos by Warwick Saint below and be sure to watch the video Empact Labs shared, which features Bear + Katiyana’s story and second wedding in California, where the bride grew up. Take a peek!
A little bit about these two… This beautiful couple met one another in the desert at Burning Man on Kati’s birthday, and for Bear it was an instantaneous recognition of that which had been missing, the other half of his soul. Bear + Kati spent years traveling the world (40+ countries and counting) together and fusing their respective professional lives to form a shared body of work that is making the world a better place by re-imaging and building community. This work and their commitment to serving the world and one another is alive and is palpable in both their presence and absence!
They kicked off their wedding festivities with a portrait session followed by an evening long celebration that consisted of ritual, performance, song, and dance with the community.
The next morning, they held a sunrise ceremony at Burning Man, in the same spot they first met.
Kati grew up on a communal property and has a strong connection to community and giving, and Bear is a musician and entrepreneur who works with Burning Man to cultivate community. Not surprisingly, it was the perfect place to tie the knot.
The following spring, they celebrated their community with a wedding weekend in California at Kati’s childhood home.
