Guys, don’t you just looove that dip-dyed macramé bar hanging Mirelle Carmichael captured above? LVL Weddings & Events incorporated tons of bright, romantic details into Alex + Krystal’s Holman Ranch wedding that meshed beautifully with all the peonies sprinkled throughout, as you’ll soon see. The property itself brought a big, family style dinner to mind, which was exactly how they envisioned celebrating with 100 guests, and the ideal change in scenery from the city vibes of LA.
The (show-stopping, obv!) bridal bouquet included peonies, garden roses, Italian ranunculus, spirea, mock orange, fritillaria and seasonal greenery.
Krystal says, We wanted to infuse a festival-like theme with a luxe bohemian-folk spirit. The style is really a cross between the two of us. The venue was so spectacular, we didn’t have to do much, just a few small details here and there to set the tone. The main design element was always intended to be the florals. The insanely talented Darcy from Seascape Flowers brought our vision to life with the most delicious blooms. We had flowers pouring out from every corner.
Yep, we totally see what our bride meant with the whole florals-everywhere thing. So pretty!
Mirelle Carmichael is so amazingly talented. She is based in San Diego and Alex and I live in Los Angeles. The first time we met was a video call with our iPhones. Mirelle is a mother of two with a full-time business. She wanted to give us her undivided attention during the phone interview. So, she literally locked herself in her car in her driveway to get to a quiet place. It was priceless to hear the raw honesty of her being such a hardworking successful woman and mother. It was inspiring to see her hustle. She is the sweetest person and we felt instantly felt comfortable with her.
BTW, there’s quite the story behind K’s delicate, romantic wedding gown: Krystal was on the dress hunt for about 6 months when she finally came across Hungarian designer Daalarna (coincidentally a nod to her heritage, too). Then there was a mishap with alterations, leaving her with a dress to fix days before the wedding. Luckily, she found someone to help her out and within 24 hours she was ready to walk down the aisle!
My most memorable moment from the day is opening up my wedding gift from Alex. He gave me a box of about 20 sealed love letters. The envelopes read open when… “you get ready,” “we are on my way to the venue,” “before we walk down the aisle”. The further into the cards I read, I realized the envelopes went on to “the next morning,” “our 1st anniversary,” “the first time we get pregnant”. I was sobbing! I felt like the girl in PS. I Love You, but without the tragedy!
Love this couple’s style, don’t you?
