Guys, actors Lauren + Tim’s wedding venue, The Roxbury Barn in the Catskills is nothing short of magical. Just seeing a photo of this pine grove online, they knew it was the one. Of course, seeing it in person really sealed the deal. Lauren says, When my mom and I visited, I fell even more in love. The whole setting is so romantic, and it just felt really right to be in this quiet, peaceful grove of very tall trees to make this commitment to each other. Shakespeare has a quote, “One touch of nature makes the whole world kin”. It felt so special to be in this gorgeous place to join our two families.
Their photog and friend Emily Delamater Photography captured it and all the little nature-inspired details they incorporated throughout their day, beautifully too:
This ceremony site. Le sigh…
We met when we were cast opposite each other in a production of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. We went up to Maine to do the show for a month and we fell in love on and off-stage. I knew I loved Tim when we were up in Maine. There was this one day that I was standing on the balcony of our cast housing, and Tim walked up the street, saw me, and then climbed up the outside of the house to the balcony to give me a kiss. It was so silly and sweet and romantic! Very Shakespearean.
Their goal for the design was classic and romantic, but still casual and light. And don’t you love how it paired with their rustic venue?
When I walked down the aisle, our best man and bridesmaid sang a song from the production of Cymbeline where Tim and I met. The song is called Hang There Like Fruit and it was composed by Phillip Owen. In the play, Tim’s character sang it to me when we were reunited, so I wanted it to be a surprise for him as I walked down the aisle.
As favors, they gave out little bottles of wildflower seeds and encouraged guests to plant them and share photos when they grew. So sweet!
I was fortunate to know and follow Emily Delamater’s work for many years, because I know her husband from acting-related work. As soon as we got engaged, Emily was the first vendor I reached out to! I love how her work celebrates love and nature, with an eye for beautiful framing and emotion. I’m so thankful we had them there, not just as photographers, but as friends.
If you’re like us, you probably can’t get enough of these two and their rustic forest wedding. Pop into our gallery below for a closer peek!
Absolutely love all the personal touches inspired by L + T’s acting life and nature, don’t you? Cheers to the happy couple!
