Boho luxe weddings have been a pretty big trend in the past, but we have to admit it’s kinda tough to get it exactly right. You’ve got the free-spirited, carefree side, combined with a good dose of decadence. How to make it flow? The planning and floral design team at Gloo & Oshy sure got it right with these Mediterranean wedding ideas inspired by La bohème—it’s effortless beauty with a luxurious twist. The inspiration: The term Bohemianism evokes an unconventional lifestyle laden with accents of artistry, poetic beauty, and carefree spiritualism. Bohemians have constantly been deemed as wanderers and adventurers whose flourish-loving souls found pleasure in the simpler joys in life. Henri Murger’s collection of short stories “Scènes de la Vie de Bohème” published in 1845, glorified and legitimized Bohemia and formed the basis of Giacomo Puccini’s opera La bohème (1896) which was our main inspiration for this shoot.
They gave their inspiration a modern twist by adding opulent, luxe details within the bride’s look and wedding décor.
Hadjiantonas Winery in Cyprus looks like a pretty spectacular spot to say I Do. It has a traditional building, stonework staircases, and wooden windows overlooking the brook surrounding the winery.Intentionally bringing together statement making elements that juxtapose one another, we sourced a main body of dry florals, lunaria seeds, poppy seed heads, pampas grass, bunny tail grass, and dried ammi blossoms, that extol the beauty of nature even at its most distressed, while adding in opulent tableware by Casa De Perrin, Anna Porcelain and Sintra plates, refined Louis linen furnishings and gold cutlery.
Love seeing a boho luxe interpretation of wedding cakes, too…
