Love the idea for using the horse show ribbons (maybe because I'm a horsey girl perhaps?) I just thought I would offer a suggestion that may help. If you have a sewing machine, you can get a pleating foot (or sometimes called a ruffler foot) for your machine. This easily and quickly pleats your ribbon for you, saving lots and lots of time and energy. I use mine all the time to make rosettes for horsey stuff.
