Let’s just start by saying that Eunice is Hello!Lucky’s Creative Director. Mmmkay… obviously her wedding is stunning. And featured in the spring 2010 Martha Stewart Weddings. And somehow we are lucky enough to be able to post it here too. It really is just delicious. Eunice of course went crazy with the wedding crafting - including the invites, dress, stage (STAGE!) and loads of handmade details. She had tons of help from her sister/maid of honor/Hello!Lucky co-founder Sabrina and a bunch of super talented friends, especially Because We Can, who built the stage and all sorts of fun props.

Now we start:

Her dress was made by Iain Harris Barlett, a friend who also runs their London office. Amazing, no? There are a few more shots further down. It’s pretty much epic. Oh and the venue is Wilbur Hot Springs in Northern California. Very magical!

100lc_rweunicedaniel2

Her headpiece is Jennifer Behr, and available online here.

100lc_rweunicedaniel3

Colors are so lovely. As is the Tim Walker inspired parade leading to the ceremony. Because We Can made the shadow puppets, and Eunice and crew hand painted and edged each in gold.

100lc_rweunicedaniel4

Um stage? Amazing. Again made by Because We Can.

We have such a good way to start the week, this lovely Monday morn. A few weeks ago Amanda and Kristina (hugely pregnant) and Danielle of Brown Paper Design headed up to Santa Barbara to meet Mr. Jose Villa at the Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse for our winter tablescape project. Let’s start by saying that the farmhouse is pretty darn amazing. And remote. You really really feel like you’re the only people out in those beautiful California hills. Second, OMG Jose Villa. He’s the nicest guy ever. We are so lucky that he loves shooting pretty things. And Danielle. We love Danielle.

Now, let’s start. We have some cute idee-ers for you all.

100lc_figueroa1

Winter in our part of California is clear and cool.

100lc_figueroa4

100lc_figueroa2

Danielle used paper whites, tulips and loads of pine cones for a simple, rustic vibe. We mixed in greys and browns with the weathered wood, plus some simple vintage textiles you can find at any flea/antique market, proving that you don’t need snow for things to feel cozy and winterful.

100lc_figueroa3

100lc_figueroa51

Blue hydrangeas and berries for a more colorful option. Plus vintage apothecary bottles (also from the flea market)… we were sold on the little numbers.

100lc_figueroa6

For favors we made English Toffee, which is a super yummy little treat for guests that goes perfectly with cooler weather. It keeps in the fridge for weeks so you can make it well ahead of time and package it just before the event. (You can see the recipe and tutorial on Lovely Morning, if you’re so inclined).

100lc_figueroa9

And perhaps our favorite detail, vintage clip-on earrings for placecard holders. There are endless options available at thrift stores and flea markets, they’re great mixed up with each other and they’re inexpensive. AND pretty darn cute, right?

100lc_figueroa81

Two lovely bouquets… simple tulips and paperwhites, and a more textured version with berries and a big velvet ribbon.

100lc_figueroa7

Thanks so much Jose, Danielle, and Gretchen from the Farmhouse! Such a beeeeautiful venue. And such talented peeps.

Finding a unique and fun idea for a Wedding Shower or Bachelorette party is never easy. Sarah of Blossom and Branch thought of a sweet way to incorporate Bodega Flowers, something you always see on your way home from the office, into a class to cater to us city dwellers. Since Courtney has been guest blogging with us for the week we thought we’d invite her as well as other friends to a class and make it all cute for ya’ll.

100lc_diybodegaflowers1

From Sarah:

Bodega Flowers: 101″ was dreamed up with the idea that New York City women often feel they are too busy to bring the simple beauty of fresh flowers into their lives. And the savvy consumer is also conscious of the expense of floral arrangements. Meanwhile, We all pass those local groceries with mounds of inexpensive flowers on the way to bus or train. I thought, why not show people how to gather some bunches from the local bodega and create something charming in their home? This class teaches women how to shop for, clean/prepare and arrange flowers, using their own container.

100lc_diybodegaflowers2

For Courtney and our friends, I selected some basic bunches of roses, tulips and carnations from the local bodega and showed the ladies how to take them from generic to chic.

100lc_diybodegaflowers3

What’s a party without making it look all cute. Jillian gathered some local talents to help spruce up my apartment for the class. We rolled out craft paper, Love*Jenna used her talents to create personalized workstations, Jillian handmade aprons by using Ikea dish towels and Linda & Harriet donated their zig zag printed note pads for the occasion.

To spice up the party treats and spirits must be present. I enlisted Sasha Smith of Spin the Bottle NY to provide a wine education and tasting for the ladies. Leah my incredible partner in crime and second mom created scrumptious finger sandwiches. And, a Brooklyn party isn’t quite complete without the help of One Girl Cookies decadent sweets which paired nicely with what Sasha was pouring. All the ladies could take some sweets home with those cute craft bags by Nice Package.

I gave all the ladies a little instruction and look at em’ go…then Viola! Perfection.

On Valentines Day Scott and Jillian were notified that friends of friends were having a secret wedding in Central Park but had no photographer. Although it was Valentines Day and all they wanted to do was be together they also thought this would be such an important moment that deserved documentation. And what better way to spend the day than to witness love first hand.

The couple would like their names to remain anonymous so they’ll be going by Lady J and Mister E.

100lc_rwscottclark1

With Central Park blanketed in snow and the sun shining it was the perfect weather for their celebration. For the ceremony they picked a spot that overlooked the Lake under Bow Bridge. There seemed to be a few other celebrations happening in the park yesterday. Go figure!

100lc_rwscottclark2

100lc_rwscottclark4

Lady J is super into vespas and the color red so Sarah of Blossom & Branch created a boutonnière and bouquet that reflected their unique sense of style.

100lc_rwscottclark5

100lc_rwscottclark6

Mister E also fixes up Vespas and is quite crafty. He made these wooden rings in honor of their day. We love that if you’re in love there’s no reason to wait for the “perfect” ring. This was such a thoughtful gesture.

100lc_rwscottclark8

Lady J and Mister E thank you so much for being such a lovely and generous couple who radiated such love. We wish you all the best.

Did anyone else witness a wedding over the weekend or have a surprise proposal?

Flowers: Blossom & Branch
Dress & cardigan: Anthropologie
Red boots: Vintage
Polka dot tie: found in Seattle

We’re super excited to show you guys the most recent Sunday Suppers collaboration this fine morn. Their dinners are always amazing, but this one is special to us because Jillian represented 100LC in a collaboration on design & decor for the Fall Harvest theme. Yay! We love the whole concept of Sunday Suppers, Karen’s beautiful photography, and all the vendors that consistently produce such amazing events.

100lc_wsss1

100lc_wsss21

In a nod to the harvest theme, the team chose vintage/colonial Americana as design inspiration. They started with blue and white vintage fabric from etsy, which is such a nice twist to the same fall palettes we always see, and added more traditional fall elements around those colors. To warm things up they added greys and natural wood, chestnuts (YUMMMMM) and feathers.

100lc_wsss31

Jesse of Roundtree Flowers really pulled together the vision using tea pitchers filled with kale, blackberries, lamb’s ear, anemones, scabiosa pods, gray lukadenron, spray roses and a bunch more beautiful greens. She also added pine cones, chestnuts, feathers, and little bushels of twigs to tie in softer shades of brown.

100lc_wsss4

100lc_wsss91

100lc_wsss10

And for a little romance, they wrapped votives in crocheted ribbon. Lovely.

100lc_wsss4a

Bryn’s pretty calligraphy on zinc name tags

100lc_wsss54

100lc_wsss6

And then the super cute favor table where guests picked up their hand-stitched recipe books and chestnut favors. Jillian made a few cupcake liner garlands that have been so popular around the blogs, but updated them with rounds of vintage fabric and lace.

So cute! We’re going to post the tutorial later this week.

Cute or cute? We’re thinking this is another piece of excellent inspiration for upcoming gatherings.
