Love the bright quirky style of Dorien and Kenny’s California wedding. They’re both actors and comedians living in LA who met in an improv class at Groundlings Theater in 2005. In planning their wedding they wanted to make sure that their celebration reflected their humor and style, and that the day was infused with joy and a profound sense of play. Right on, guys. Right on. The colors turned out amazing!

A friend made their invites…

Bridesmaids chose their own dress. The only stipulation being that it was bright and they felt beautiful.

Dorien made her bouquet and all the bouts from her grandma’s button collection. So cute!

Congrats you two! Thanks so much for sharing your perfect colors and pretty whimsy with us.

Gabrielle sent us her gorgeous summer picnic wedding featured in the current issue of Australia’s Wedding Style Guide. So excited to share it here! She’s an event stylist and planner so clearly her wedding is worthy of publication. Inspired by Gabrielle’s English heritage and love of the English countryside in the summer, she threw a modern picnic party with all sorts of pretty details.

Super cute hand-lettered invites…

Would an English summer picnic be complete without croquet? Doubtful. Such pretty details.

And the striped table runners, candles, and little buttons are sooooo cute. Those envelopes with the buttons contain a personalized Thank You note to each guest. So thoughtful!

Beautifully done Gabrielle and Mary! And big congrats to Gabrielle and Jarrod. Thanks so much for sharing your pretty day with us!
Gabrielle and Mary will be posting more photos from the wedding this week on their blog. Be sure to check it out!

A pretty Brisbane wedding for Tuesday, full of Etsy vendors and pretty flowers and lovely Australian accents, no doubt.

Flower girls in tutus are always pretty cute.

That placecard copy is definitely one for the archives. So cute.

Stephanie and Bobak planned their wedding with the intention of minimizing their impact on the environment as much as possible. Sometimes you don’t think about how, shall we say, wasteful a huge party can be. We’re all for cuteness as you know, but cuteness does often come with an environmental price, so it’s lovely to see a wedding where pretty details and eco-mindedness collide.

And the dress. We love her dress.

In keeping with their earth loving theme, they chose green and white as their colors. Their caterer served local, seasonal, organic food. The bouquets were made from local peonies and ranunculus, their invites printed by a green printer, and their wedding rings were made from recycled platinum and gold.

Their centerpieces consisted of glass and fabric from thrift stores, herbs from the farmer’s market and flowers from a local farm. The rest of the reception decor was made by the couple and their family and friends.

Beautiful wedding you two and major props for taking the low impact approach so seriously!
