Yesterday, we gave a little sneak peek at the before and after shots of Kelly and Joseph’s wedding. Most couples only have the pleasure of creating one day of their dreams, but these two decided one wasn’t enough – so they had a ceremony in Mexico, and then one back in Portland to seal the deal.

First we’re gonna look at their Mexican wedding ON the actual Mayan Ruins, and later, we’ll show you Portland.

Kelly is a super crafter (and a photographer), so with the help of friends and family, she included some incredible little crafty details and touches like fabric corsages for the guests, rock garden centerpieces (with rocks Kelly has collected since she was six years old), a handmade cake topper and more poms than anyone would know what to do with.

During the ceremony, family members stood in a circle blessing the couple by telling stories of love and marriage. The couple also had a collaged book of love that held their rings and a single feather, which they released into the ocean following the ceremony.

How’s that for a location?  So beautiful.

The heart-shaped glasses are a completely adorable touch!

Now that’s one stunning wedding.  Stay tuned for Part 2 – The Oregon Wedding!

Here’s a cute intro to a wedding coming up tomorrow. These are pics from their rehearsal brunch and a day after shoot in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. The bride, Kelly, is a photog herself and had tons of fun ideas for her own wedding weekend pics. Thanks photog Leah Verwey for sending these over!

It’s impossible not to find something to love about Joanna & Brian’s seriously gorgeous ‘Great Gatsby’-esque wedding. We’re talking creme-toned balsa wood bouquets and custom-made wooden aisle runners. From scalloped ivory lace and pearls to black feather accents and loads of tarnished, vintage silver, this wedding just oozes Jazz Age style that would make anyone want to jump back to the roaring 20s. The cherry on top is that the entire event was captured on film by the wonderful and talented Annie McElwain.

Let’s get to the good stuff.

Any gal that can pull of flats this stylish with a gown that lovely deserves a solid thumbs up in our book. Oh-so-cute, Joanna.

How about these balsa wood floral arrangements by JL Designs? The softness paired with the drama is totally perfect for their Great Gatsby vibe. Not to mention – it’s sustainable! Extra awesome.

Take a sec to absorb the incredibleness that is that aisle runner. Go ahead, we’ll wait. It was designed by invite and event designer Jesi Haack and believe it or not, is made entirely out of reclaimed salvaged wood collected for weeks beforehand by the couple and was assembled by Mr. Haack.

Instead of simply naming the tables, the couple, who have lived in many exciting places, designed enormous seating charts with icons of locations they’ve called home and listed the guests’ names underneath. Guests then had to put their geography skills to good use and find their table by looking for that specific place. I mean, c’mon – that’s amazing. And fun!

We really must point out how elegant a cake this is. The incredible Melody of The Sweet & Saucy shop was actually inspired by a gown spotted at another wedding and had been dying to recreate it for months. Check out those giant white sugar petals – love!

A gorgeous shot to end on. Congrats, you lovebirds! This was one spectacular-looking event.

Top of the morning, cakelets! To start the week, we have an awesome little treat to share with you. You all know Max, right? Well he and his gorgeous gal Margaux got hitched a few months ago and their wedding is now on display. We have the video from Shark Pig to share with you here. Aren’t they the cutest?

Margaux, your dress is so chic! Max, you don’t look half bad yourself.

You can see the photos from Our Labor of Love on Once Wed too. THIS is a real Flashdance wedding, isn’t it?

This is a very exciting wedding, cakelets. Not only is it gorgeous and Icelandic and volcanic and postcard-worthy, it was also styled by our very own Jillian. Hooray! Seriously, when you see these pictures, you’re going to cancel your current plans and opt for a small wedding in Iceland too.

Christina and Mark had a difficult time deciding where to get married. Christina is from Vancouver and Mark is from the UK, and they have close friends dotted all over the world. Finding a location that was convenient to everyone seemed impossible, but Iceland ended up being perfect. It’s between London (their old home) and New York (their current home) and represented everything they wanted in a destination wedding: romance, intrigue, tranquility and 24 hour sunlight!

Christina contacted Jillian pretty much the moment J launched her business in January. Christina is super stylish, but not really the crafty sort. While she loves the handmade look, she knew she wasn’t going to be able to pull it off herself (for a wedding in Iceland) and also couldn’t count on local vendors, who she didn’t know at all, to create the wedding she envisioned. Perfect solution: hire one very talented lady to style it up!

Their invites, designed by Sarah Hanks, were little books documenting not only the wedding festivities but also their story as a couple, a sweet poem by Cole Porter, and a few other travel essentials.

In terms of design, Christina knew she wanted to play up the amazing natural beauty of Iceland and use the land whenever possible. Jesse and Jillian even picked handfuls of the local wildflowers (which are like milkweeds to the locals, but very pretty to guests) and added them to Christina’s bouquet.

The ceremony was outside, overlooking the ocean and lava fields. How cute are the mix n’ match chairs? Definitely a perk of having such a small wedding.

They booked Hotel Budir for the entire weekend and as Christina says, they could not have been more hospitable. They treated their 50 guests like family and went out of the way to make their wedding celebration completely perfect. Plus they got to indulge in 2 am hikes to waterfalls and dancing til 6 in the morning. It’s hard to sleep when the sun is always out and you’re about to get married!

For the reception, Jillian made fun escort cards inspired by the Us Box we posted from Summer of Grey Likes Weddings. Guests picked up their escort card and then found a corresponding phrase at their seat. Christina’s said “I Heart” and “Mark”. Cute idee-er! Christina found the trinkets on Etsy.

Seriously so beauitful, everyone! Christina and Mark, what exceptional style you have! And Jillian and Jesse, amazing design skills, ladies. Congratulations newlyweds. We’re so happy we could share your pretty, perfect day.

Quite extraordinarily romantic, if you ask us.
