You all know about Emersonmade, clearly. Their gorgeous flower creations are legendary around the blogs. We were snooping around their site the other day, ogling their gorgeous new (ish) pieces for the home. Aren’t they such great inspiration for simple, handmade wedding decors? Not to mention their sweet bouquets, ring pillows, shoe clips, corsages, bouts, lapel pins, etc etc etc. They make everything! And it’s all scrumptious.

Could look at their site all day long. They are such a great resource for sweet little details. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have all of your flowers for your wedding made by them?

(We’re not even going to mention their new clothing line. See, here we are, not mentioning it. Sooo cute. You can pre-order it now. Perhaps along with a lovely corsage for your fall cardigan?)

Happy weekending!

Ready for some serious awesomeness? From Max, this super insanely stylish wedding has us so inspired for summer and for doing things your own way. If you have stellar personal style, (and you happen to be the global design director for Nike Sportswear, like Jarrett) let it show all the time… especially at your wedding. Andi was nice enough to share all the details from their day… including an 80’s Ferrari, custom designed beach towels, and a Native American ceremony.

Here goes…

Love their invites and towels designed by Dutch artist Parra, who Andi and Jarrett got to know while they lived in Amsterdam. They loved his design so much it became a central theme of their wedding.

They chose their amazing pool towels as favors because it fit with the theme of the wedding (pool, party, sun); and they turned out to be a fun way for their guests to identify each other at the pool during the weekend. They were a huge hit. And they were organic bamboo fabric, making them even better. Exceptional attention to detail you guys!

Gorgeous ceremony and Native American flute by Bill Neal. All around rad way to get married.

Rachel Pally dresses for Andi’s maids. So chic in their different styles, which she had them accessorize with chunky gold and vermillion. This lady thinks of everything.

And the groomsmen wore their own suits + matching Nikes. Obvs.

Then there’s the guests, who look like they might moonlight on the Sartorialist. Yes, suits can be worn as shorts and if you have the right attitude you can absolutely show up barefoot to a wedding.

Notice aforementioned Ferrari. Nice touch.

And the details from the party. Andi used her wedding as an excuse to work with Confetti System, who she (and we) loves. The bright shiny colors were an excellent contrast to the pretty neutrals of the desert.

Their cake was based on Parra’s design and made by Jeannette Hardin. Table numbers made by good friend Michael Leon, who also brought the keys to the Ferrari.

We didn’t even mention that Michael was in effect as the DJ du jour, which is as good it gets when it comes to music.

We could keep talking about how much we love the whole vibe, but you can clearly see for yourselves how perfect this all is. SAVE EVERY PHOTO IN YOUR INSPIRATION FOLDERS!!! Kudos to Andi and Jarrett for putting together such a swell party. We wouldn’t expect anything less from such stylish folk.

Congratulations and thank you thank you thank you for sharing your secrets with us, Andi!

Gia Canali sent over this stunning elopement this week and because the couple is moving to Northern Canada to go goldmining this week, which means they won’t have Internet, so we wanted to get it up right away.

Jillian and Dax got married on April 10, 2010 at a bend along the Kern River, near Kernville, California. Their closest friends came to the wedding, and everybody pitched in to pull it off! In Gia’s words, this wedding “is heartening proof that couples can wed last minute and still have a (small scale!) beautiful, totally romantic and deeply meaningful tying-of-the-knot.” Well said!

Jillian made her own dress, including the pattern for it. She deconstructed a vintage dress to create a pattern for the bodice (the green part); sewed that, and then crocheted doilies madly for three weeks straight. She used over two miles of crochet yarn. Apparently they were still working on the dress the morning of the wedding (!) and Jillian had to be sewn into it, Project Runway style.

She found her heels at David’s Bridal and had them dyed, then used a pair of vintage earrings that belonged to a friend (via the friend’s grandmother) as shoe clips. Such a clever way to sass up your outfit and make it your own!

Jillian made her own bouquet with fresh pink hydrangeas, Stars of Bethlehem, and soft flowing greenery from the LA Flower Mart.

You two (three!) are so adorable! Thanks for sharing your wedding with us and we wish you all the best on your journey to Canada.

Let me level with you. That adorable nightie that you bought for your wedding night will probably still have the tags on it when you board the plane to leave for your honeymoon.  Weddings are amazing and exhausting. The good news is, the fun is not over yet and you have ample time for amazing style over the honeymoon. Don’t let the honeymoon be an afterthought. You’ll take more photos that week than the paparazzi take of Lindsay Lohan on Robertson Boulevard. Take the time to feel like a celebrity and go for it in the fashion department. Plus, you know you worked hard for that rockin’ wedding bod so might as well squeeze every bit of attention out of it.

Here is your must-have packing list for three popular honeymoon locales.

I don’t even think you are allowed into Mexico without wearing something embroidered.  I love the traditional Mexican tunic, but think it’s even sassier as a minidress.  Show off the work in an embellished bikini, even if this is the one and only time you’ll wear embellishment in the water. For evening, no need to get too gussied, because they take it down a notch in Mexico. Wear a cute ruffly dress in white to carry on your bridal glow a little longer. Make sure your wedges are walkable because the best parts of Mexico aren’t paved. As a memento of your honeymoon, shop the local wares and pick up an artisan necklace. And when turning out the lights, get your new hubs heart racing a skimpy cha cha bandeau and shorts.

You don’t need to be the obnoxious floral-camp-shirt clad tourist in Hawaii to look like a beach babe. Go for soft sherbet sun-kissed colors like this fun ruffly bikini. A maxi dress is mandatory, especially because you’ll look like a goddess when the afternoon breeze blows off the water. Hawaii is all about chill, so you can tempt and tease in a girly short and borrowed boy shirt. Make sure you pack plenty of light easy dresses in photo worthy colors. And two essentials you’ll live in daily: embellished flip flops and a white short to pull over your bathing suits.

The French are not afraid to wear stripes on a daily basis and look totally chic and normal doing it. Take advantage of your chic side: wear lots of black. This sheer bodysuit has such a sexy retro vibe, but is totally forgiving to wear. Not all lingerie has to be barely there. Flaunt your curves in a Herve Leger look, and you can feel free to pack the skyrocket heels for France. If you are not striped out yet, get a kitschy swimsuit to play up the nautical motif, and white jeans and a tee are a great look for shopping. You would regret not having a scarf and oversized shades, so pack those as a carry on, put them on when you arrive, and immediately feel 100 times cooler when you exit the plane.

My final favorite item for France is this black jumpsuit from Huntress Collection. You would never know by looking that this is 100% knit french terry (see it’s French). So it’s packable, versatile, and most importantly comfortable for that long plane ride over. It’s also winnable, because we are GIVING AWAY one of these beauties to a lucky gal at random.

Just comment on this post and 100LC will pick a winner on Friday.

It’s been so much fun putting together style tips this week.  Thanks 100 LC for having me guest blog!  You gals are so Lovely!

xoxo,  Lanie

So now that the bride has been covered, we thought we’d discuss blooms for the groom…and guests. We love the idea of not only outfitting your groom and groomsmen in flower accessories, but carrying it through to your wedding ‘vips’. It is a thoughtful touch to give your immediate family a bit of handmade love, but it also helps alert the photographer to who the key family members are. Let your photographer know that anyone wearing your special flower should be in a good share of the candid reception shots.

There have been so many cool updates to boutonnieres and corsages, that it is hard to chose just one! But remembering the style rule of ‘create a story’ you should make sure the effect contributes to the over all stylistic theme that you are going for. Here are some of our favorite looks by style.

These sugary sweets from Sarah Culleton are a delicate little treat. You guests will be endeared by the vintage findings and the cute fabric mixes. I love the idea of guests using these as bookmarks after the wedding! Usage: Romantic Brides and Vintage Brides.

100lc_gblovelybride2b

The look of dried flowers and frost bitten leaves would be great for a fall or winter wedding.  These Twigs and Honey accessories have a pale beauty to them for a snow wonderland theme. Usage: Eco Brides and Hippie Brides.

100lc_gblovelybride2c

For the classic prepster, Emerson Made pins are a-class. There little little guys are so fun in bunches! Usage: Preppy Brides and Classic Brides.

For the no frills couple, these Nimbler Grove flowers are beautiful and architectural. With such a simple design, you can really punch up the color quotient. Usage: Modern Brides and Rock & Roll Brides.

If none of these looks fit your theme, or if you are just feeling a little d.i.y itch coming on, you should attempt your own flower pins. Tomorrow, I’m going to show you a simple and quick techniques for pumping out a high volume of romantic fleurs. See you tomorrow!
