Happy Monday, Cakies! This elopement inspiration coming from Chantal of The Gibsons is one of the most unique ways to tie the knot we’ve seen. Their pals (who modeled in the shoot, as you’ll see below) own an Airbnb about 45 minutes outside of Glasgow, Scotland, on one of the area’s most beautiful lochs. They knew it’d make for an adventurous elopement destination, and we think you’ll agree. Plus, all the Scottish-inspired fashion and cozy wedding style is just too good to pass up.
A few notes from Wild Antler, who was behind the food + styling: Alongside Brolly Bucket’s throws and lifesaving brollies, and the The Posy Sisters‘s gorgeous blooms, we used a combination of materials and textures to create intimate spaces within Rossmay House and its breathtaking surroundings. The main bedroom’s stunning fireplace and bay window were dressed to create a setting for our bride to get ready. The outdoor Buddha hut was adorned with our fairy lights, deer antlers and brass to contrast the brickwork. Candle light lit the space, which instantly transformed it in to a setting perfect for couple shots.
The bride’s gold headpiece comes from Modiste, who makes bespoke bridal accessories in the UK.
Gah, this bridal hairstyle! Props to Laura Gray on this beautiful updo.
The family who modeled along with the bride + groom own the property. Chantal of The Gibsons says, I was inspired to create a different type of elopement shoot in Scotland. Elopements here are often dark and moody therefore I felt we needed to show a different side of Scotland in softer, light and airy photos. We chose springtime as it is such a beautiful time of the year and we wanted the palette to be light and neutral with some greenery. Something timeless.
We’d love to cozy up here in any weather!
We felt that the Airbnb would be the perfect spot for potential eloping couples to rent out and have everything on site with such a perfect location with multiple options for vow locations, photo locations, indoor or outdoor eating. From there I selected an amazing team of Scottish wedding suppliers who would make this shoot come to life and who would be great recommendations for couples looking for suppliers. I feel that our team worked together flawlessly to create something rather special and different at the same time.
Even the cake and sweets fit their concept oh so dreamily, don’t you think? Find more photos from this Scottish Lochs elopement in our gallery…
