When you’ve got someone like Jacqui of Deets & Things at the helm, there is always a gorgeous way to reinvent a tried-and-true party theme. Take this Moon Child themed 1st birthday she dreamt up: you’d never think to pair moons and blooms but they’re totally perfect together (as evidenced by this cake action above, clearly).

Prettiest painted garden and pressed flower moon!
The Moon Child theme is also a nod to the mama’s past baby shower, which was also moon-themed.
Jen Tee Bakes was behind these truly darling floral painted sugar cookies and other treats.
You didn’t think they’d pass up a balloon install, did you? It’s so perfect behind the lounge.
Jacqui explains, I’m a big pink party fan, and this little party was no exception! There were pink floral linens from BBJ Linens, a chic blush velvet sofa from Create A Party, blush cotton candy from the Jolly Sheep and pink bubbly to go all around! I wanted to make a statement out of the lounge, so I called in my gal pal Michelle Roger’s Styling to create the most whimsical cascading install around the furniture. With florals from Not Just in Novels, it all came together beautifully.
They added a fun spin on a traditional Korean welcome bar with an interactive display of flowers: during the Dol ceremony guests cast their votes on what they thought birthday girl Amelia would choose as a career by placing a flower in the corresponding vase. By the end, they also had cute takeaway moon bouquets!
Not Just in Novels strung a floral garland above the kids table that was then strung with moons and stars.
Littles got to string together their own moon pendant at their seats.
