Morning, Cakies! Ready for a super fun fact about Anna + Billy? This isn’t their first time gracing the pages of 100LC. Last year they were actually finalists in our bridal fashion giveaway, where they posted a moodboard of their early design inspiration. You can imagine how thrilled we are that The Mallorys shared photos of how their wedding in Richmond, Virginia turned out. Spoiler alert, they maintained their vision of a modern, colorful day with organic, natural touches (blending both their styles), and yeah… it looks absolutely incredible.
These design details are just a little peek at the graphics Anna (who is also behind the brand Type Delight) designed for the big day. She also dreamt up a custom monogram crest + details that they carried through to all the paper goods (see below).
On finding a photographer, Anna says, We began our initial search looking for photographers with a soft, romantic, classic style and that fit within our budget. After meeting with Aaron and Bethany at a local coffee shop, we just clicked! I remember getting in the car after our meeting and turning to Billy to say, “They’re the ones, right?” and he totally agreed! The truth of the matter is that there are so many talented wedding photographers out there, but it’s more important to have a good connection! They are by your side the entire day, so it’s good to make sure you really, really like them as people (not just their photography style)!
The show-stopping bridal bouquet by Amanda Burnette featured so many of our faves: garden roses, peonies, poppies, protea, ranunculus, and billy balls. See Anna’s Pinterest board for more inspo behind their style.
Our wedding design was a combination of each of our styles—modern meets organic. Some of our favorite design elements included bright, bold florals, a mid-century modern lounge grouping, acrylic and wooden signage, wooden farm tables and chairs, a hand painted photo booth, and a colorful dessert display with donuts and cake pops.
Did we mention that Billy is a huge Star Wars fan? They incorporated references like this throughout.
How fun was it to see how their design evolved from that initial Pinterest board? Soooo neat! All the best to A + B!
