Can we just say that pink, gold, and glitter are always a good idea? Especially when the pink is on a peony, the gold is on a cake, and the glitter is on a dress (or six). Their city chic theme is just a testament to graphic designer Mandy’s fab style—think glamour, modern DIY décor, and even a little NYC (where Luke goes to medical school) love sprinkled throughout. Thanks to Wee Three Sparrows for letting us take a peek.

Mandy explains, Our colours were black, white, and gold with a pop of color every once and a while, in the centerpieces, the bridesmaids lip colour, and bouquets. I loved the idea of having the girls in sequins and the boys in bow ties; it was a classic yet fun take on old glamour, and whimsical. It represented us because we love to have fun with one another, and we never take ourselves too seriously. We wanted a fashion forward, urban, and chic wedding. We love Toronto and love fashion, so it was a perfect theme for us.
Did we mention that Mandy + her mom are huge DIYers? They revamped a vintage couch, made crepe paper centerpieces, spray-painted their cardboard chandeliers, spray-painted matchbox cards gold, and created signage. The fam also made all the cake pops and they used Mandy’s photos of New York as table signs. They even painted the thrift store mantle that they married in front of.
Like we said, a gold cake = always a good idea.
Parting words from our bride: If at the end of the day you’re married to the one you love, nothing else matters—not that the flowers weren’t right, or the cake was too small, or certain guests didn’t show, nothing else matters. You’re married, that’s the goal!
Cheers to Luke and Mandy!
