After perusing these images Valorie Darling Photography sent our way, we’re pretty much convinced that actress Abigail and her groom Chris, a sports agent, wrote the book on romantic California weddings. Pulling in inspiration from the vineyard vibe at Malibu Rocky Oaks, they enlisted Nicole Alexandra Designs to help them add contrast with modern details and a rich color palette.
The bride’s Inbal Dror gown couldn’t have been a more perfect match for her, huh?
They opted for deep, rich floral hues that would mimic the Pinot Noir served at dinner and Leslie of Rebelle Fleurs totally nailed the design.
Abigail tells it, After being announced as husband and wife, we had the privilege of having the most incredible photos taken at this epic property by the one and only, Valorie Darling. Robert Michael Films was in the mix as well shooting video with his drone overhead (see below!). We will cherish each photo along with our wedding film forever. Once everyone enjoyed our delicious signature cocktails, Chris and I entered the dinner reception to our favorite Coldplay song, “Fix You”, and danced poolside as the sun set in a most glorious fiery red splash behind us! That sunset was a divine moment; it took our breath away and everyone else’s too! When night fell, everyone dined under the stars on our long wooden tables with adorable bistro lights overhead.
For the reception, Leslie + her team installed an intricate flower + orb hanging under the pergola.
Blue Door Olive Oil favors lined the tables, and before hitting the dance floor, everyone flocked to the Urban Espresso coffee bar for Nutella almond milk lattes. Yum!A few notes on the design… The oversized farmhouse tables & bar were provided by Found Rentals. We layered vintage dishes, flatware, and glassware from Dish Wish Events, and repeated the lucite from the chairs in the table numbers. The florals were absolute perfection. Garden roses, peonies, and dahlias in sleek modern vessels, danced along the table and added depth, texture and color. The favors were personalized olive oil bottles from Blue Door Olive Oil— had the tops dipped in wax to match the color of the linen napkins from La Tavola, while Yellow and Lace hand wrote each guests name on a kraft tag which we tied with twine and accented with olive branch sprigs.
Best first dance ever! Suuuuuch a stunning locale, that Malibu Rocky Oaks.
