Rustic red and navy Texas wedding: Alison + Scott

One of the raddest things about S + A’s Texas wedding was how true they stayed to their personal style. They said I Do in the church they first joined when they moved to Houston, had the reception at a historic fire station three blocks down the road, and focused their energy on making sure guests had the best time ever. Naturally their photos had to be their style too (AKA non-wedding-y), so they enlisted Kendall Hanna the second they had the chance.

For the design, their main inspiration was this classic color palette. Jennifer of Jennifer Laura Design says, They contemplated getting married on July 4th and ended up going with early May but something about the color palette of red, white, and blue were calling to them. We went for it and had a lot of fun mixing in some industrial and copper vibes in there too. Simple, industrial, with really fun big pops of color (red) in the flowers was my go to design direction for this awesome couple.

Jennifer created everything from the marquee letters, this amaze bridal bouquet + floral crown, vases, seating chart, to menus and maps. Well done!

Alison tells it, Our style was casual, eclectic, red-white-and-blue, and Texas-y. It fit us perfectly… We’re very no-fuss. We had our favorite 90s cover band, My So Called Band, come down from Oklahoma, a trolley to shuttle our guests to and from the hotel/church/reception, and a late-night grilled cheese truck. The most important thing to us was for everyone to have a great time and not have to worry about anything.

The stats: 3.5 months of wedding planning, a budget of 25k, and 10 years of collecting ideas.
