We thought this shoot would get us all in the mood for planning or attending or dreaming about a modern English wedding. Putting aside the usual idea that England is gloomy, rainy & stuffy, Mary from Forever & Ever Events set out to show off the more modern, pretty, and traditionally quirky side of English bridal style, and so she teamed up with some of the best London-based wedding vendors (like photog Aneta Mak) for a gorgeous inspirational photo shoot in the historical and quirky area of Bloomsbury, London.
It’s also worth mentioning that although these vendors are based in London, most if not all will travel across the globe for clients. Good to know, right?
Though the royal weddings of yesteryear mostly featured poofy, over-the-top gowns, modern English brides actually prefer a more timeless, chic, elegant look – like these to-die-for Delphine Manivet numbers below.
When talking about UK bridal style, you can’t not talk about hats. Hats! English women are expected to wear them at more traditional affairs, but it’s not a super strict requirement these days. That said, more and more young, hip ladies are opting to don their own unique versions of hats and hairpieces – especially at the more offbeat weddings. We love these designed by Edwina Ibbotson.
