One might not immediately think wedding when looking out at layers of earth at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, but then you see what they put together, and suddenly everything clicks. Inspiration is everywhere, guys.

As a way to honor and celebrate a love that is now, new and fresh on a wedding day, but also to celebrate the promise of an ageless, layered lifetime of romance, the painted hills are a perfect backdrop and inspiration for a styled wedding shoot.
They channeled the theme with locally sourced flowers, a sustainable table runner + natural dyed napkins, and furniture rentals to lessen their environmental impact.
This cake from Melanie of Delectable Baked Goods is desert magic, don’t you think? It had layers of edible wafer paper and hand-painted accents.
