Happy hump day, Cakies! There’s just something about a charming southern wedding, isn’t there? As if this gorgy floral installation Jubilee Flowers adorned the doors at Alabama’s Sacred Heart Chapel with wasn’t enough, the team also took advantage of the property’s romantic surroundings for an elegant early fall wedding theme. Thanks to Lacey McLaughlin for sending these photos our way!
As you can imagine, the sweet Sacred Heart Chapel in Fairhope, Alabama, was the team’s primary inspiration. The building is 140 years old, having survived hurricanes and tropical storms.
From there, they added rust orange, dusty peaches and pinks, along with lots of greenery to the gorgeous oak trees and Spanish moss surrounding them. Aren’t these cane back chairs perfect for the occasion?
A few words on the design… A dreamy ambiance was enhanced with stunning floral designs among the different scenes of this magical day with lush and wild floral arrangements inspired by a beautiful palette of dusty pinks and peaches. The combination of golden hues, honey and caramel were incorporated with locally foraged magnolia leaves, camellia branches and fig vines. Bright pops of color were sourced from local gardens using delicate coral vine and ripe persimmons. The natural beauty look for the bride was perfectly matched with her own cathedral style veil and effortless styling of a loose up-do which added to the tranquility of the afternoon. The calmness of the water and constant breezes off the bay combined beautifully with the flowing of the champagne shaded gown and its Chantilly lace detailing.
Charming invitation suite by My Lady Dye, huh? It featured handmade wax seal, deep blush silk ribbon, hand torn paper, hand lettering, and custom artwork.
Fun fact about these two: they’re a real couple who were actually married at this venue two years ago!

The surrounding grounds of the church beckoned us as we explored the haunting and magical overgrown bayside yards of long forgotten homes with their ancient oaks and towering magnolia trees. It truly felt as if we had stepped back in time and an enchantment seemed to direct the rest of the shoot that day…. The ever-present eastern shore wind blew as we moved between the trees and the chapel and the flower girl played and skipped through the overgrown grass, delighting in her petal basket… A custom illustrated map card was included depicting some of the local landmarks.
So many lovely details for all you planning an early fall wedding. Thanks to Lacey + the team below for inspiring us today!
