Cakelets, do we have a wedding for you! Prep yourselves for a week of Jess + TJ: two crazy kids that know how to throw an insanely fun weekend-long wedding celebration. Photographer, Gia Canali hit the nail on the head when she described this wedding as “one for the books”. It so is! Cowboy hats, a picnic-style dinner, and square dancing are all just part of day one. It’s no wonder their wedding was recently featured in the Summer 2011 issue of Brides magazine on stands now – it’s packed with everything you’d imagine and want in a wedding. Put on your boots, it’s time for a hoedown!
“All I could think of was a giant family camp style event a la dirty dancing- so that’s how we went about planning it. We picked a spot where everyone could stay on site and get to know each other through family style meals, game nights, and all the different activities that were offered at the ranch- fishing, hiking, horseback riding etc”.
The “DeeLish” typography and silverware illustration on these Miss Pickles Press silverware sleeves are the perfect grab n’ go essentials for an outdoor picnic-style wedding.
Old watering cans, vintage kitchen tins, antique picnic baskets, colorful Ball jars, and antique wire baskets filled with the brightest arrangements helped to create a homey outdoor atmosphere.
Don’t you just want to wrangle these two up and have them plan a weekend-long wedding for you?
We wanted to make sure everyone mingled and had an awesome time because we knew that when it came down to it, our friends and family were more alike than they were different, and we wanted our wedding week to be about making those types of connections.
“Looking back there is no other way I would have had it – we were relaxed, everyone had fun participating in activities they had never tried before and bonding over field day and square dancing that we felt like everyone was one giant family by the time our actual big day rolled around which made it that much sweeter”.
This is just the beginning of the celebration ladies. Throughout the week we’re going to continue to share Jess + TJ’s wedding weekend. Tomorrow we’ll pick up with the rehearsal dinner!
