Well, happy Friday to you! We can’t think of a better way to send you off into your pretty little weekend than to share the sweetest of weddings with you, shot by the charmingly talented, Edyta Szyszlo. Michelle, VP of Sales for pet fashion provider, SimplyShe + Jacob, a commercial photographer, celebrated an intimate wedding with a tight-knit group of eighteen guests (plus Michelle’s five month old tiny bun in the oven), and we’re so happy we get to share it with you! Be warned – cuteness overload will ensue just a few photos down when you lay eyes on Jacob’s two-year old son, Kai.
Love the faint paper mache/watercolor-esque feel to their post-wedding announcements. With a budget of $2,000 for 200 cards, design included, Michelle + Jacob collaborated with the marvelous, Hello!Lucky, to design a custom announcement. Such a fun and smart idea to mail out a wedding announcement to everyone they would have loved to invite had they been able to throw a big bash!
The look they were going for: a personal, indie vibe that was also both elegant and classy. $1,500 was spent on the décor, which included: flowers, a ‘Just Married’ sign, ‘Love’ swizzle sticks, personalized Ad Libs, Mr. & Mrs. signs, and bride & groom forks. Things were kept simple, but the combination of their items, venue and colors meshed perfectly to create their look. Because Michelle didn’t really have the time to get all DIY, she took the next best route and found vendors on Etsy, and used BHLDN as resources.
This is why it’s a good idea to start befriending the peeps at your favorite restaurant — Bar Jules in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, is Michelle + Jacob’s favorite place to chow at. Because they’ve come to feel like the staff is family, and because their party was so small, they were able to host a lunch for all eighteen guests with no fee to rent the space! They paid for the cost of their lunch, brought in cream puffs from a local bakery in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, and a few decorations later they had a reception!
Wondering if these two were able to fit in a first dance? Oh, for sure! With no dedicated area for a dance floor, the folks at Bar Jules were happy to turn their speakers over to them as they danced to “No One’s Gonna Love You” by Band of Horses.

Oh, these two are just adorable. Congrats Michelle + Jacob!
