Firenze [fee-ren-dze]. We love the way that rolls off the tongue – so, how about we go there for the day, via Sarah + Ben’s wedding? If you’ve been following our tweets, then you already know our little Miss Amanda is traveling through Italy. Just when you thought she couldn’t tease you enough, with the idea of an Italian honeymoon, we go and drop this wedding in front of you! Oh, but it’s so worth it. When it comes to planning, designing and executing a wedding, Sarah (Paper + Cup’s Art Director in Europe) and sweetheart, Ben (Producer for French news network BFM TV), know how to do it just right. The photos by W. Scott Chester say it all!
The first of many lovely things to see, are the invitations + favors! We are absolutely smitten with Sarah’s invitation design, and even more excited to share that you too can have this invitation suite! Yep, Paper + Cup Design just so happens to be in our Pop-Up Shop right now (until Monday October 10th), and Sarah’s design, plus lots of other pretty ones, are on sale at a huge discounted price. Wink, wink!
The image of Sarah’s Vera Wang strapless tulle ballgown paired with her mother’s vintage Miu Miu‘s is going to haunt us for days.
When it came to the look and feel of the wedding, I had to mix & match. Since I love vintage / retro / rock n’ roll styles, and our families are more classical and elegant, we went with black & white stripes + pinks. During the ceremony we had white chairs for the women with black fans ($1 each), and black chairs for the men, with white hats (we bought them directly at Florence’s market so we could bargain for 70 pieces).
The sweet sound of Somewhere Over the Rainbow played as Sarah and her father walked down the aisle. Listen to it here:
Custom pinwheels were ordered through Etsy ($112 for 150) and used as playful escort cards.
To keep from obstructing from the already perfect view from the terrace, Sarah kept the centerpieces low and simple. Titles from some of their favorite black & white movies were written on small school chalkboards and surrounded by mason jars with candles inside.
Yes, we know. This is perfection in the form of a photo, right? It’s killing us too!
Sarah + Ben, thank you for sharing your more than gorgeous wedding with us! You’ll have us dreaming of Firenze for weeks to come!
