There’s no question Sam + Wade have pride. They’re from the South (born and bred) and aren’t afraid to flaunt it. Alongside the largest wedding party we may have ever featured, you’ll find bales of hay for guests to sit on during the ceremony, an elaborate Ole Miss groom’s cake (never seen one like it!), and a good old fashioned home-style BBQ dinner for 200 guests. Flower arrangements were kept simple but plenty and the vintage details, that Sam could not get enough of, make the wedding as sweet as their canned candy favors. It’s romantically charming, from Wade’s red bowtie, to the flower girl’s pink tulle headband, and perfect for your Tuesday perusing!
Designing our wedding invitations turned out to be really cost effective. I wanted my invitations to be a momento that guests could keep, so I decided to use chipboard for the main portion of the invitation and have them printed through Triple S Letterpress out of Huntsville, Alabama. The RSVP postcard was print on 100# cover stock and the reception detail portion of my suite was printed on a county fair ribbon. My total invitation suite cost was $750, a much smaller fee than custom invitations through a vendor would have cost me. From my newfound obsession with designing wedding stationery, I have started my own cost conscious invitation co. and am currently in the process of building a website and building my business.
There were tunes all around! The grandparents and parents were seated to Johnny Cash’s “I Walk the Line”, the wedding party walked down the aisle to “Marry Me” by Train, Sam walked down the aisle to “At Last” by Etta James and both her and Wade exited to “Swing to the Rhythm of Love” by Plain White T’s.
We count 22, Sam + Wade included. We told you this was a big wedding party!
Our décor was all rented from Dee Green of the Limestone Bay Trading Co in Mooresville, Alabama. She had the most amazing vintage tables, mismatched china, ah the list could go on on. I just couldn’t get enough of her antiques! Total, our décor ended up costing around $9k. Then, came the favors! In the end, we decided on several small things for guests that were placed randomly around the wedding reception. At the bar, we had koozies monogrammed with our “H” on one side. The other side said “to have, to hold, to keep your drink cold.” I also put candy in canning jars and covered the lids with fabric. The jars had stickers on them, one side with our “H” monogram, the other with “LOVE IS SWEET”. Total, favors ran about $500.
