Temescal Canyon wedding: Lindsay + Ben

February 1, 2012

Sometimes weddings don’t need to have a theme. A pretty venue like Temescal Canyon will do just fine. Especially when you’ve got Sweet Emilia Jane designing and crafting details that emphasize the craftsman-era style of the venue, The Floral Lab sprucing up every corner and centerpiece with wild flower arrangements and vintage jars, Kate Neal capturing all those in between moments you smiled and got a kiss on the forehead from your new husband, and a happy bride and groom being the highlight of the day. When things play out right, you get a wedding like that of Lindsay + Ben’s.

Our good friend Nick Carbonaro designed our invites, and we had them printed by Studio on Fire. At first we thought our budget wouldn’t allow for letterpress, but using two-color overprinting and blind impress (and printing all of the pieces at once) helped us save on production costs. We used contrasting envelopes from Paper Source, and had a custom stamp made for the return address.

Close family friends, Stefanie Valdez and Steve Moos and their band provided the music for the ceremony and the reception. We walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Stevie Nicks’s “Leather and Lace”, had Jackie Wilson’s “Higher and Higher” play as the recessional song, and had our first dance to James Brown’s “Try Me”.

Thank you to all the talent involved for sharing this beauty with us and congratulations to Lindsay + Ben!
