We’re not even going to try and hide how much we adore photographer, Tim Coulson for sharing this wedding with us. He describes himself as a photographer of people – not just of weddings, not just of engagements – but of people. When you see Leonie + Chris’s wedding, it will all make sense. No fancy venues here – in fact neither of L + C’s venues had ever been used for weddings before. Their industrial meets natural wedding was challenging to pull off, but so worth it!
The bouquets, made with peonies, hydrangeas, fresh herbs, and dusty miller balanced the exposed brick and cement of their venues.

Leonie’s dress and veil were made by Louise Greco, a good friend of hers, and an extremely talented bridal coutourist.
We knew what kind of atmosphere we wanted to create and the music that we love played a big part in that (as it does in our relationship). Songs from The National played before the ceremony as Chris insisted that it would help keep him calm. At the cocktail party we had the best party music we could think of – mostly jazz and blues greats along with a few contemporary ones for good measure. Our first dance was to Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald’s version of “Dream a Little Dream.” Our dinner playlist was a mix of all the songs we fell in love to from Ryan Adams to Billie Holiday.
We knew we had taken on a lot by wanting to do everything ourselves and not use any kind of package deal — however I think we both now appreciate the idea of wedding planners a lot more — but everything was WELL WORTH IT in the end, and we got to learn so much in the process. In fact myself and a few friends of ours are planning to start a collective to assist people who want similar styles of weddings but don’t necessarily have the resources and time to do everything alone. We worked with such amazing people that there was barely a soul involved that didn’t end up being as passionate and excited about each aspect of the wedding and the details. If there was anything we wanted to be said it would be a sincere thank you to them all.
