This small and intimate wedding in Mexico is sure to please, and possibly motivate you to make a last minute edit in your binder, call up your planner and say, “Hey, we want a destination wedding now!”. If that happens, all credit goes to Lauren + Tony. They’re the ones that made this haven entirely theirs for a weekend. Their gathering was a small one, but it allowed them the time to chat with each guest that made the journey out to the white sand to celebrate. Their decor was kept simple + pretty, but then again they were in paradise. And then there’s Lauren’s Catherine Malandrino crochet maxi dress…
Tulum has an amazing energy and there are strict environmental restrictions (No high-rise hotels or all-inclusives) which gives it a rustic feel.
Most of our guests arrived about 3 days before the wedding which was great because it gave us time to relax and hang-out with everyone. We rented out Cabanas La Lunas in the main Tulum beach area for family and friends and then Tony and I moved over to Casa Nalum the night before the wedding to take a break from the action and prepare for the big day. The wedding venue was a surprise to our guests which made for a fun change of scenery. Casa Nalum is located on secluded beach in the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an, about 20 minutes from Tulum. Sian Ka’an means “where the sky is born,” and the intimacy and beauty of the location is unbelievable, it is like being transported to another world.
