A year of marriage, or 5 or 20, is always worth celebrating, so when Beth + Zach shared the journey they experienced during their 12 months of marital bliss, we couldn’t wait to share. To represent the four different locations they lived in – Portland, Washington DC, New York, and Visalia, CA, their shoot was styled to be a little bit rural and a little bit urban. After seeing how much fun Primary Petals had with the floarals + styling of this shoot, you’ll see why we’re totally smitten with it.
Here’s a little bit from them to describe their first year to go along with that adorable illustration:
We had always expected marriage to be full of surprises, and yet there was no way we could expect our first year to take us on a journey that spanned the entire nation, that found us dealing with the loss of loved ones, the farewell to old friends, the formulation of new friends, and the triumphant return to those we love once again. Together we traveled through the mountains of California into Oregon, and were abruptly swept away East where we voyaged from DC to New York, experiencing cities of vast differences and similarities, until departing back to Beth’s hometown of Visalia where we found ourselves staying, despite original plans to traverse the country once again. What we discovered was that no matter where we were, or where we would set off to next, together we were always at home. We’re excited to see where home takes us next.
Here’s to many more golden years to come!
