Let’s jump right into the colorful dinner & dance party that went off on day 2 of Jessica + Aaron’s three day wedding celebration. Following the pool party seen in Part 1, J + A wanted their guests to enjoy an evening of merriment that was separate from their ceremony. Instead of the reception dinner & dancing that usually follows a ceremony, they hosted it all the night before. Bash, Please decked the room out in vibrant fabric garlands, Geronimo Balloons, Yeah! Rentals chairs, arrow escort cards and whole lotta glitter and gold, of course.
Got to love those bright dino planters.
Give Bash, Please handfuls of colorful feathers, paint and sticks, and they’ll rock out rad bushels of arrows to act as escort cards (and favors). So rad!
This is why we love showing you all the details, because we get just as inspired as you do by new ideas. For example, dipping plain ol’ white candles in gold glitter, genius! Spray painting mason jars and plastic animals gold, easy and crazy cute, right?
Jessica on why they hosted their reception the night before their wedding day: We didn’t want to break the flow of our wedding evening by asking all of our guests to sit down and eat a coursed meal, and as much as we love love love dance parties, we didn’t want our wedding evening to turn into one massive dance party with tracks from the 90s on the turntable. We wanted it to feel a bit more sophisticated and grown up – like we were entering adulthood as a couple. Instead we decided to host the big sit-down dinner and dance party the night before our wedding. It was everything I had hoped for – vibrant, young, and full of energy.
Coming up: the ceremony, Jessica’s gorgeous Reem Acra gown, a memorable baraat, and the Palm Springs High School band? Oh yes!
