Continuing on our five-year-moon in Anguilla (if you need to play catch up, click here for part 1)… Every morning we’d wake up, take a walk on the beach or do a yoga class, and then head on over to Aleta for breakfast. There was always a tasty spread ready for us where we helped ourselves to the omelet bar, pastries, waffle bar and one of my favorites, the guava yogurt and fruit. It was so nice to just sit, relax and think about the day ahead.
On this particular day we spent a good portion of the day at The Spa. Scott and I had two different treatments. A massage for him and a facial for me. Since this was our first time at a spa together they were sweet enough to allow us to have our treatments done in the same room, overlooking the ocean. It was a good idea at first, as I thought this would be something romantic we could do together, but to be perfectly honest it wasn’t! Oops. So here’s the thing. I’m a professional when it comes to going to the spa (as in I know how to sit there, relax and enjoy the moment). Scott on the other hand, not so much. He talked, asked questions, and kept making noises throughout the treatment while I tried to relax and be transported to my happy place. I got my chillaxin’ time afterwards at the pool on my little raft though. Could have stayed there all day.
Before each treatment they asked you to pick a rock out of the bag to state your intention for the treatment.
I wanted to take this table home with us. Amazing, right?
To break up the time spent laying around, we took part in a few activities. Some of the activities they offer: rock climbing, biking, paddling boarding and our fave, sailing. We loved taking the sail fish out and exploring the sea, pretending we were the only ones in the middle of the ocean. While on the boat we caught sight of a tiny island, called Sandy Island. Once we heard there was a bar on the island, we had to visit. We couldn’t take the sail fish out there, so we hopped in a taxi to town and took a boat to the island. Let me preface this by saying it’s not cheap. Taxis cost $25 dollars one way and the food and drink on the island are a pretty penny. But, it’s on a deserted island and this is a once in a life time experience, so we splurged. Totally worth it!
Ahhh, these pics take me back to exactly how I felt while in Anguilla. Relaxed, content and happily in love with my man. Big thanks to Katie for planning this trip, and Jen for capturing our everything so beautifully. Don’t worry, I’m keeping this five-year-moon going. It’s not over. Next week I’ll show you guys how St Barths was!
See you next week!
